Direct4 AWD
Standard across the RZ line, DIRECT4 is an all-wheel drive system that achieves quick and linear response according to driver input. The DIRECT4 drive-force distribution control uses vehicle wheel speed, acceleration and steering-angle sensor information to control front-to-rear drive-force-ratio distribution between 100:0 and 0:100. This contributes to improved start-up acceleration, better handling stability and low power consumption.
Miles of Exhilaration
With a manufacturer-estimated all-electric range2 of up to 220 miles, the Lexus RZ 450e can take you well beyond your everyday commute. And for spirited drivers, RZ 450e models equipped with sporty 20-inch wheels have a manufacturer-estimated all-electric range of up to 196 miles.2
The New Sound of Lexus
Under the Lexus Electrified vision, Lexus engineers pursue the creation of expressive in-cabin sounds designed to help heighten the exhilaration of driving. eAXLE
The newly developed high-output electronic axle (eAxle) fully integrates the motor, transaxle and inverter within a compact unit to benefit cruise range without introducing components that compromise exterior or interior design. The front eAxle is packaged with a space-efficient layout, while the rear eAxle features a low-profile layout contributing to increased interior and cargo space.
Spindle-Body Design
A vision of things to come, the RZ 450e boasts an exterior that ushers in a new Lexus aesthetic and establishes a new design direction for future electrified offerings. The signature Lexus spindle grille is replaced by a Spindle Body which focuses on aerodynamic efficiencies, optimized proportions, and style.
Driver-Focused Cabin
The front cockpit’s design advances the human-centered philosophy of Lexus. Inspired by the tazuna reins favored by traditional Japanese equestrians, the steering wheel features switches that are precisely synced with the available Head-Up Display, creating a space where drivers can control various functions such as navigation, audio and Drive Mode Select while still concentrating on driving.
Dynamic Sky Panorama Roof
Every RZ 450e features a panorama roof that is seamless on the outside and larger than a conventional moonroof on the inside, elevating the entire cabin experience with more natural light. Lane Change Assist
This available system6 can monitor your surroundings during lane changes and warn you to stay in your lane if another vehicle is detected. When Dynamic Radar Cruise Control7 is in use at highway speeds, Lane Change Assist is initiated by activating the turn signal and briefly holding the lever. If the system determines there are no vehicles or obstacles in its path, a smooth and gradual automatic lane change begins. After a lane change is safely completed, the turn signal is automatically deactivated.
