Performance

5.7-liter 8 Engine
The LX features a remarkable 5.7-liter V8 engine, empowering you with 383 horsepower[1]
. The engine produces 403 pound-feet of torque at 3,600 rpm
[1]
thanks in part to dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (dual VVT-i) which monitors the
engine's speed and load, increasing torque at lower speeds for improved towing power and boosts
performance at higher speeds by adjusting intake and exhaust valve timing.
This engine features 32 valves and a chain-driven Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC)
leading to long-term durability and efficiency. An aluminum block keeps the
engine lighter, helping to improve efficiency even further.

Ratings achieved using the required premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 or higher.
If premium fuel is not used, performance will decrease.
Six-Speed Sequential-Shift Automactic Transmission
Improve acceleration and fuel efficiency with six forward gears and
Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT). A sequential-shift feature allows you to
select gears with the feel of a manual transmission.
7,000-lb Towing Capacity
The power of a 5.7-liter V8 engine, working with the six-speed sequential-shift transmission,
allows you to tow anything from boats to horse trailers. The engine gives you 90% of the 403 pound-feet of torque
available at low rpm
[1]
, which makes towing 7,000 pounds feel almost effortless
[2].

Ratings achieved using the required premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 or higher.
If premium fuel is not used, performance will decrease.
[2] Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up properly and you have any necessary additional equipment.
If gross trailer weight is above 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg), it is necessary to use a
weight distributing hitch with sufficient capacity. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions and cautions from your
trailer-hitch manufacturer and vehicle Owner's Manual. The maximum amount you can tow depends on the total weight of
any cargo, occupants and available equipment.
Full-Time 4WD with Torsen® Limited-Slip Center Differential
A TORSEN® torque-sensing
limited-slip center differential
[1]
allows the LX to efficiently distribute engine power between the front and rear axles.
Combined with Active Traction Control (A-TRAC), this minimizes tire spin,
helping you to drive in slippery conditions without losing traction. For maximum traction in off-road situations,
the differential can be locked. Full-time 4WD powers all four wheels so the LX is as capable off-road as on.

Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) with
Active Height Control (X-AHC)
Rise to the challenge of virtually every road surface with the newly refined
Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) system with Active Height Control (X-AHC). This innovative suspension system helps to continuously maintain optimal vehicle posture,
despite road conditions. Because each wheel automatically reacts to unique road surfaces, AVS adjusts quickly to changes in
driving conditions, maintaining your selected level of comfort.
Active Height Control automatically adjusts the vehicle's ride height to help provide optimal vehicle performance, regardless of speed or terrain.
To help improve aerodynamics at higher speeds, the LX lowers 2.4 inches in front and 1.6 inches in back.
For increased traction in off-road situations, the system engages once the 4WD shifts into low range, raising the vehicle 2.0 inches in front and 2.4 inches in the rear
for better ground clearance. This helps control roll and pitch for added security. When Crawl Control
[1]
is enabled, the LX can be raised an additional three inches to prevent bottoming out in extremely rocky conditions.
When you have reached the end of your drive, the vehicle automatically adjusts to its lowest position for an easier entry and exit.
[1]
The vehicle is designed to meet most off-road driving requirements, but off-roading is inherently dangerous. Abusive use may result in bodily harm or damage.
Lexus encourages responsible operation to protect you, your vehicle and the environment. Seatbelts should be worn at all times.
Crawl Control
Crawl Control
[1]
is a remarkable feature that allows you to go places few other vehicles can. When activated at slow speeds, Crawl Control allows you to take your
foot off the accelerator and brake pedal, allowing you to concentrate on steering.
When climbing steep slopes and rugged terrain, Crawl Control helps to maintain a
slow, steady speed in difficult off-road conditions. In conjunction with the Active Height Control (X-AHC) and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS),
the LX can raise an additional three inches to help prevent the vehicle from
bottoming out over particularly rocky terrain. By maintaining low speeds, Crawl
Control is designed to allow the driver to concentrate on steering, while
regulating the engine output and brake application to help control vehicle speed
and prevent wheel slippage.

Hill-Start Assist Control
Hill-start Assist Control (HAC)
[1]
helps to increase driver confidence when driving ascending hills. While stopped on an incline,
a vehicle may roll back once you step off the brake. HAC helps maintain the LX's position by applying the brakes to all four
wheels until the vehicle begins moving forward.
[1]
HAC is designed to help minimize backward rolling on steep ascents. It is
not a substitute for safe driving judgment and practices. Factors
including grade, surface conditions and driver input can all affect whether HAC
will be effective in preventing a loss of control. Please see your Owner's
Manual for further details.
Variable Gear-Ratio Steering
Variable Gear-Ratio Steering (VGRS) automatically modifies the gear ratio between the steering wheel and the front tires,
adjusting the number of rotations required to turn. At slower speeds, steering is more sensitive, requiring just a slight
turn to maneuver the vehicle. At higher speeds, VGRS offers enhanced control.
Ultra-Low Emission
The LX is certified as an Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV II).
